Job Description:
The Brennan House Historic Home in downtown Louisville, KY is in need of an
intern to do historical research, collections management, revised historical
interpretation of the site, give tours to the public on an as-needed basis,
and some clerical work.
The Brennan House Historic Home is a unique downtown Louisville Historic Landmark.
It is the only residence left in the downtown are north of Broadway. The Brennan
House was the home of Thomas and Anna Brennan and their eight children. The
home continued to be occupied by one or more of the family from 1884until 1969.
The house contains an extensive collection of Brennan family furniture, art,
books, and much more. If you love old houses and history, you will love the
Brennan House.
Qualifications:
Must be familiar with research methods, late nineteenth through early twentieth
century American history, and feel comfortable speaking in front of others.
However, training will be provided as needed.
Hours and days are flexible,
between Tuesday-Saturday.
As of yet, the Intern position
is unpaid, however, there may be a possibility in the end for a small stipend.
